Dore Gilbert & Sullivan Society Singers [Music Festival 2019]
Friday, 27th September 2019 at 7.30 pm
[This event forms part of our music festival for 2019]
This Gilbert & Sullivan Society was founded in the village of Dore, close to Sheffield in 1971. The following year the Society performed HMS Pinafore, and since then has presented a fully staged and costumed production with orchestra each year. This year’s production of “The Yeomen of The Guard” has been rated amongst one of its finest shows with fantastic feedback from audiences.
They have performed previously on two occasions at Wentworth in 2009 and 2012 to a full audience in the church and we are delighted that they have agreed to return to entertain us in our magnificent church once again with a varied programme of G&S and Jubilee themes as well as songs from Broadway musicals"
